About

The Melting Pot Foundation was established in 2011 by culinary entrepreneur Claus Meyer, co-founder of Noma, the Danish three-starred Michelin restaurant also ranked best restaurant in the world several times by 50 Best Restaurants.

Melting Pot is a commercial, non-profit foundation with a charitable purpose. Through activities that have food, culinary craftmanship and entrepreneurship as recurring elements, the Foundation aims at improving the quality of life and future opportunities among vulnerable and marginalized population groups in Denmark and abroad.

Um Mami by Melting Pot, Morocco, is a collaboration between Danish Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP), Melting Pot Foundation Denmark and Plan Børnefonden.

Um Mami, situated in Morocco, is a culinary school under The Melting Pot Foundation, originating from Denmark. While it functions as a business, due to the absence of a specific social enterprise category in Moroccan law, its primary emphasis is not on profit but on contributing to the community and promoting culinary arts and entrepreneurship among Moroccan youth.
